Avoiding methane emissions
and meeting legal requirements at the same time
Methane (CH₄) plays a central role in the current climate debate - and in the energy infrastructure. It is indispensable as an energy source, but as a greenhouse gas it is around 28 times more harmful to the climate than CO₂ over a 100-year time horizon. Particularly in gas stations, compressor systems and gas pressure regulation measuring stations, where methane emissions occur time and again during maintenance work, for example due to leaks, pressure relief or system-related blow-off processes. Until now, this gas has often been flared (flaring) or released into the atmosphere in an uncontrolled manner (venting). However, these practices are about to undergo a profound change.
